AMD or Advanced Micro Devices are one of the leading global providers of innovative processing solutions to computing, graphics and consumer electronic market. AMD is very popular in the segment of processors where it has captured a significant chunk of the market. It competes directly with Intel and makes no bones about it. AMD was established in the year of 1969 and is based in California.

In February 2005, it launched the world’s highest performing processors for one-way to eight-way x86 servers and workstations and featured support for SSE3 software instructions as well as an increase in the Hyper Transport™ performance through expanded bus frequency.

Marching ahead with more successes, it is now collaborating with Sun Microsystems to build the Asia’s largest Supercomputer which is an achievement in itself. In the long run,  so buying AMD processors will be the company to watch out for whether its processors, graphics or consumer electronics!!
